In Serbia the situation is heated right now. A lot of protests, and the Serbian government reacted very violently against the protesters. What do you think about them?

Spontaneous protests in Serbia were provoked by President Aleksandar Vučić, who announced the reinstatement of lockdown for citizens of Belgrade in connection with the coronavirus epidemic.

It is about the fact that we in Serbia had for months the strictest lockdown measures in Europe and then the government abolished all measures in order to hold the elections, even though it was a health risk.

The usual views of pro-Western liberals are that when they think of the West, it makes them think of democracy, freedom of speech and human rights. The East, on the other hand, makes them think of dictatorship and repression. They create their own misconceptions on the basis of the media reports and propaganda that have been spread by the world’s media for decades. If you ask them what they think about the enforcement of democracy by bombs, they will not have an answer to that question.

The Trump Administration’s Success in Kosovo Is a Historic Disaster for Serbs

No one expected that the meeting between Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić and separatist Kosovo leader Hashim Thaçi scheduled for June 27th in Washington would be canceled. Moreover, the significance of this meeting in official circles, both in Belgrade and in Pristina, was discussed with great optimism. Thus, on June 18th, Thaçi told the Pristina media that this is a historic meeting that will turn the course of the peaceful settlement of the Kosovo issue, and that the agreement to be signed will “once and for all close the century-old chapter of conflicts between Serbia and Kosovo”.

Нико није очекивао да ће састанак Александра Вучића, председника Србије, и Хашима Тачија, такозваног председника Косова, заказан за 27. јуни у Белој кући, бити отказан.

Посебно што се о његовом значају говорило у званичним круговима Београда и Приштине са великим оптимизмом. Тачи је 18. јуна за приштинске медије изјавио да се ради о историјском сусрету који ће бити прекретница у даљем процесу мирног решења и да „Будући споразум треба једном заувек да затвори једновековно поглавље сукоба Србије и Косова“.

New Format for Discussing Kosovo

MOSCOW, October 31 (Sputnik) - Russia could take on the role of mediator in talks between Serbia and Kosovo, the deputy chairman of the Russian lower house's committee on international affairs, Alexey Chepa, told Sputnik on Thursday.

 

"If bilateral talks fail [to settle the problem], we need to engage a third party who will manage to skirt contentious issues. Russia could become a potential third party to the negotiations [between Serbia and Kosovo]," the lawmaker stressed.

Пре неки дан, руски министар спољних послова Сергеј Лавров прокоментарисао је говор премијера Јерменије Николе Пашињана, осуђујући га. Као што знате, Никол Пашињан, који је био у окупираном Карабаху, рекао је да је "Карабах Јерменија".

Шеф руског министарства спољних послова повукао је паралеле, напомињући да је то еквивалентно чињеници да у Албанији кажу да је „Косово Албанија“, што је неприхватљиво.

Јерменско министарство спољних послова реаговало је давањем изјаве. Лавровове речи назване су "селективном и једностраном оценом".
