Dragana Trifkovic: Mark after Hill, is there a total twist on prayer?

Dragana Trifkovic, Director General of the Center for geostrategic studies

It is still too early to make assessments of Trump's policies in his second term. But what is obvious is that immediately after taking power in the White House, Donald Trump signed a number of decisions and initiated very important processes with them. With these decisions, Trump has dealt a direct blow to the head of neoliberal ideology. Of course, the implementation of many decrees will take time, but at least serious problems have been resolved. With the decree "protecting women from the extremism of gender ideology and returning biological truth to the Federal Government", Trump set out to crack down on "genderism" and "feminism" simultaneously. "It will be the policy of the United States to recognize two genders, male and female. These sexes are not subject to change and are based on a fundamental and indisputable reality. Under my leadership, the executive branch will enforce all gender protection laws to advance this reality,“ the decree said. So many parades with colorful flags and animosity over people, becomes an ugly past. Even more important are Trump's national security and Border Protection.

The Wall Street Journal reported 6. in February, employees of U.S. intelligence agencies, including the CIA, the National Security Agency (NSA), the Office of the director of National Intelligence (ODNI), and the FBI, received letters asking them to voluntarily resign. The CIA said in a statement that "these decisions help ensure consistency between the work of the intelligence agency and the national security priorities of the new administration led by US President Donald Trump." The director of national intelligence was named Tulsi Gabard, a former Democratic Party lawmaker and military veteran, a former member of the Hawaii National Guard. Gabard will oversee the work of Seventeen U.S. intelligence agencies, including the CIA, NSA, the U.S. Military Intelligence Corps, the U.S. Defense Intelligence Agency, and others. after leaving the Democratic Party, Gabard was known for supporting Julian Assange and Edward Snowden. They criticized her for liking Russia, and even (along with me) found herself in Black List Vladimir Zelensky.

In February, Trump also launched a full-scale purge of the Pentagon, removing a number of high-ranking personnel such as generals and admirals, as well as Chiefs of staff and service in the military. Retired military personnel returned to service. A full-scale military reform was launched, which included cutting the incredibly high defense budget for the next five years. Trump has named Fox News anchor Peter Haggett as head of the Department of Defense. Many were surprised by such a decision, but Hagset actually has military experience. After graduating from Princeton, Haggett served in the Minnesota National Guard, was deployed to Guantanamo Bay naval base, and subsequently volunteered for military service in Iraq and Afghanistan. But it is clear that Haggett was not part of the U.S. military establishment in which Trump does not have too much confidence. It is far from Trump wanting to harm the US military's unprecedented capabilities. The moves he has taken are aimed at dealing with the "Deep State" and personnel he sees as disloyal to the interests of the United States. Removing censorship in the United States is another move that can be judged extremely positive. Although the Democratic authorities of the United States have consistently emphasized freedom of speech and democracy as the highest principles, in practice they have abolished them and introduced unprecedented censorship. Donald Trump himself faced this when he was banned from social media. In January, Trump signed a decree "restoring freedom of speech and abolishing federal censorship" that said: "under the guise of fighting "false information," "misinformation," and "incorrect information," the federal government has violated the Constitution's protected rights of American citizens to free speech." Trump is 23. January 2025. he ordered the declassification of all documents on the assassinations of John F. Kennedy, Robert Kennedy and Martin Luther King. The creation of the" Deep State " in the U.S. is connected to these cases. What we need to be most interested in is whether the US policy towards the Balkans will change, which in recent decades has been continuously opposed to all Serbian state and national interests. The two main factors of this policy were the maintenance of the US military presence in Kosovo and Metohija and in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as a guarantee of the preservation of the American political heritage in the 1990s. However, Trump has repeatedly announced that he intends to withdraw the US military from numerous military bases around the world. This also applies to the Bondstyle base. European officials fear that the evacuation of U.S. troops from Europe could create new security problems, especially in light of Europe's preparation for a "fight with Russia". During the signing of the decree, Trump was asked whether he planned to withdraw all US troops from Europe as part of a settlement agreement in Ukraine. "Nobody asked me to do it, so I don't think I'm going to do it. I wouldn't want that. But the question about this has never been asked,“ Trump replied. It should be recalled, however, that Russia raised the question of the withdrawal of NATO infrastructure from Russia's borders, to the state of 1997. years. This of course does not apply to all of Europe, but it does apply to Southeast Europe, Central Europe and the Baltic states.

In general, Trump has expressed much more interest in Canada, Greenland and other territories closer to the United States than in preserving the Euro-Atlantic partnership. He is also much more interested in development investment projects, which he can contract with other great powers, than in fighting endless wars and worrying about "European security". The fate of Europe, including the Balkans, will largely depend on comprehensive agreements between the United States and Russia, where Ukraine is only part of a broader agreement. In any case, the appointment of a new US ambassador to Belgrade can be a sign of positive changes in relations with Serbia. Christopher Hill, who was the guardian of the legacy of the "deep state" with a biography of a friend of the KLA bandits and involvement in all the dark affairs in the Balkans, was extremely hated in Serbian society. At the same time, he was a favorite among the Serbian political establishment who built his career serving other people's interests, as did Hill. The new US ambassador, Mark Brnovic, comes from a Serbian family of emigrants who fled communism. This fact itself promises a lot. In addition, he points out that he is proud of his origin and that he is committed to the Orthodox faith. No less significant is his career as a prosecutor in Arizona, during which he filed lawsuits against the Barack Obama administration and The Joe Biden administration. He has all the predispositions to make a complete turn, finding understanding with Serbian society, not with a perverted political establishment. Whether it comes with such intentions remains to be seen.
